Ms. Johnson is a proud homegrown Spring ISD leader who brings more than 15 years of experience in instructional leadership, campus operations, and student achievement. Most recently, she served as assistant principal at Cooper Elementary School after previously serving in the same role at Ponderosa Elementary. Through her leadership, she has helped to foster a positive campus culture, coached teachers through the T-TESS evaluation system, and used data-driven decision-making to help improve the campus accountability rating from a “C” to a “B,” positioning the school for continued academic success.

Prior to serving in campus administration, Ms. Johnson was a Student Support Specialist and principal intern at Beneke Elementary School, where she strengthened intervention systems, supported campus improvement efforts, and cultivated her passion for instructional leadership. She began her career in Spring ISD as a second-grade teacher at Beneke, where she was recognized as the campus Teacher of the Year in 2014. Most recently, she served as summer school principal at Major Elementary School, where she oversaw all aspects of campus operations and academic programming.

As principal of Cooper Elementary, Ms. Johnson will build upon the school’s strong foundation by continuing to support teachers, strengthen partnerships with families, and ensure every student receives a high-quality educational experience.

Ms. Johnson holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University.
