Performing and Visual Arts

Spring ISD has a rich history of excellence and high achievement in the Performing and Visual Arts. Our programs support student learning by providing opportunities for students to develop academically and socially through authentic engagement with a rigorous curriculum.

For many years, Spring ISD has earned distinctions and accolades at the district, area, regional, state, and national levels for the work produced by students in our performing and visual arts programs.

Visual Arts

Our Art programs have earned numerous distinctions and awards for excellence and are recognized throughout the state and nationally as highly effective programs.

Band

We takes pride in its historically strong Band programs. They are a vibrant part of our schools and the community. We offer Band as a fully curricular academic enrichment course.

Choir

Students who elect Choir are encouraged to take advantage of the continuous and sequential choral experience through high school and beyond.

Dance

Our dance companies typically perform at a number of campus and district special events, as well as occasional performances around the community.

Theater Arts

Students discover and develop their creative skills and abilities through the development of acting performance skills as well as technical theatre and design skills.

Elementary Art

Students learn skills through a TEKS-aligned curriculum that focuses on timeless and broad concepts employing the elements of art and principles of design.

Elementary Music

Targeted music instruction teaches the foundations of reading and writing music through the use of singing songs and games, the playing of instruments, and movement to music.

Arts Integration

Prestigious Awards for Musical Talent

Diego Chapella Perez is a senior at Dekaney High School and a proud member of the Saxophone Trio Ensemble. He has accumulated around $10,000 in prize money from various music competitions. Diego is a two-time Texas All-State musician, and most recently, he was named the gold medalist at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra's Young Artist Competition.
