Principal PrincipalMayra Garcia mgarci7@springisd.org Mayra Garcia is the principal of Claughton Middle School. Ms. Garcia previously served as principal of Cooper Elementary School, where she led significant academic gains and earned multiple academic distinctions in student achievement, growth, and closing achievement gaps. Under her leadership, the campus improved STAAR performance, academic growth, and accountability outcomes while maintaining one of the highest teacher retention rates in Spring ISD. Ms. Garcia was also recognized as Spring ISD Principal of the Year for the 2022–2023 school year. She previously served as assistant principal at Claughton Middle School and brings additional leadership experience from Houston ISD, where she led successful campus turnaround efforts at both the elementary and middle school levels. Ms. Garcia holds a Master of Educational Administration from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston–Downtown.
