Westfield High School

Known today as Westfield, in 1976 Spring High freshmen and sophomores moved into a new building considered Spring High South. In 1981-1982, Spring High South became a full four-year high school and changed its name to Westfield, in honor of the old Westfield community.

Mission, Vision and Goals Statement

The mission of Westfield is to create and maintain a safe and nurturing environment that ensures that every member of the school community benefits from a high level of student academic achievement, verified by objective measures, furthering positive intellectual, technological, physical, moral and social development.

The vision of Westfield High School is to prepare and equip all students with the necessary skills for their chosen Post-Secondary career, whether college or employment.

Laura Hunter

Laura Hunter is the principal of Westfield High School. Ms. Hunter has been an educator for 30 years. She has served in multiple roles including teacher, assistant principal, associate principal, principal, and central office administrator. Ms. Hunter’s focus has always been providing students with a quality education in a safe and secure environment. Before joining Spring ISD, she worked in Aldine ISD where she served as a high school principal. She also worked in Houston ISD as a School Support Officer, in which she led and supervised multiple high school principals in transforming their campuses to successfully improve their state accountability rating. Ms. Hunter earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Cleveland State University and her Master’s Degree from University of Houston.

The Spring Independent School District serves over 34,000 prekindergarten through 12th-grade students in a diverse district located 20 miles north of central Houston. From high-quality early childhood programs to college preparation courses and career pathway exploration, there are programs and services designed to meet the needs of every Spring ISD student.
