Beneke Elementary School

Dr. Joseph S. Beneke served Spring ISD as superintendent from 1973 until 1980, directing the District during a period of rapid growth. He joined the District in July 1970 as director of curriculum and instruction and was named assistant superintendent in 1971, the position he held until assuming the superintendent’s role in 1973. Dr. Beneke is the namesake for Beneke Elementary School, which was opened in 1986.

Dr. Beneke dedicated much of his life to education and children. His love and legacy for the students at Beneke Elementary will continue to live on.

Julie Smith

Mrs. Julie Smith is the principal of Beneke Elementary. With many years of experience in educational leadership, she has also worked at Eickenroht Elementary in Spring ISD. Smith holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education from Sam Houston State University.
